When you book a shoot with me, we’re not just ticking boxes—we’re creating something awesome together. Here’s how I do it….
I keep things fun and simple. No stuffy poses or awkward “say cheese” moments here! We’ll chat, laugh, and before you know it, you’ll forget there’s even a camera around. That’s when the magic happens—when your family’s real personalities shine through.
I’m always on the lookout for different angles. Maybe I’ll get down on the ground for a cool perspective, or find that perfect spot where the light hits just right. The typical straight-on shots? We’ll do a few (older relatives tend to like these!) but otherwise – not my style. I want your photos to make people stop scrolling and say “wow!”
Don’t worry about the technical stuff—that’s my job! I’ve got all sorts of specialized equipment and techniques up my sleeve to create images that pop. Whether it’s playing with depth of field, catching those tiny details others miss, or using lighting in creative ways, I’m all about making your photos stand out from the crowd.
At the end of the day, you’ll get unique views and images that actually feel like your family —not some stiff, posed version. We’ll have a blast making them, and your family will have photos you actually want to share.
Locations
Canberra has so many great locations for photo shoots – mostly hidden in plain sight – all the way from Tuggeranong to Belconnen and everything in between!
After much experimentation, trekking and experience, I know where to catch that perfect sunset in Belco, which hidden corners in Lanyon have the most sweeping landscapes, and all the sweet spots in between. Morning light in Woden? Afternoon glow at Yarralumlah? I’ve got you covered.
Want a gallery filled with moody pine forests or the quintessential Aussie bush with gum trees and granite boulders? Stunning riverside shots or sandy beach vibes? We can get that done.
I’ve discovered those secret urban spots, quirky alleyways, and stunning nature backdrops that most people walk right past without noticing.
Alternatively, if you’re more comfortable in your own space or at a favourite location, we can do the shoot at your own property. Your backyard, living room, or that special spot in your garden that you love – sometimes the most meaningful photos happen in the places you call home. It’s all about what makes you comfortable and happy!
